These new outboards feature an advanced Mercury electronic fuel injection system designed to offer boating enthusiasts, fishing enthusiasts and professional anglers easy starting and efficient performance.
Lightweight and efficient
Thanks to EFI technology and other improvements, these engines offer up to 27% better fuel economy than previous carburettor models in the same power range.
They are light enough to be portable, making them ideal for spontaneous adventures on the water in towable fishing boats and other small craft, including dinghies.
Gram for gram, these outboards produce more peak power than previous-generation carburettor engines, with substantial weight savings compared to most EFI outboards in their class.
Easy maintenance
EFI technology also makes these engines easy to maintain, with no oil filters to change. In addition, their camshaft requires no periodic maintenance or valve lash adjustments throughout the life of the engine. The new engines also come with a quick-connect fresh water flushing attachment that connects to a standard garden hose.
EFI technology makes starting easy in all weather conditions
While the 8hp and 9.9hp EFI models are offered with a choice of manual or electric start, the manual start models do not require a starter battery, increasing convenience.
The 8 HP EFI comes with a side mechanical remote control. They require 2 original Quicksilver control cables for installation (not included)
Mercury's engineering team has balanced the powerhead of the new 8hp and 9.9hp EFI outboards, and incorporated vibration and noise dampening materials, including soft rubber mounts, to provide a smooth and quiet driving experience.
