Specifically developed for optimal vibration damping. The torsional vibrations are very efficient damped thanks to a very flexible rubber element, ensuring a low noise transmission and without vibrations or interference between the motor and the axis of the hey.
Advantage
High lexibility
Protection against shearing (axial and radial) guaranteeing a safe transmission in any circumstance
Allows misalignment up to 2º
Excellent shaft centering, even reversing
Possibility to disassemble the centering ring, in case of applying two or more bearings
Integrated thrust damper that reduces axial vibrations
Non-conical clamping core for perfect centering and easy disassembly of the shaft assembly
Centering the Bullflex
A motor on flexible motor supports by definition always moves. When the propeller shaft is installed rigidly, which means, resting on two or more non-flexible bearings, the shaft of the propeller must not be affected by the movements of the motor.
If this happens, the motor assembly, connection and closing of the horn may be damaged. When a rigid shaft assembly is installed, the centering ring can be removed from the flexible Bullflex connection. This must be done if the distance between the inverter output plate and the first shaft bearing is less than 20 times the diameter of the shaft. The pendulum movements of the flexibly mounted motor will not be transmitted to the propeller shaft but will be absorbed effortlessly by the Bullflex connection.
Naturally, the removal of the centering ring has no adverse effects on the vibration damping properties. When the shaft of the propeller is supported by a single rigid bearing, the Bullflex connection, with its centering ring installed, will function as a ball joint. The propeller shaft will thus be supported and centered within the Bullflex connection, independently of the movements of the motor.
